Relación entre dominancia social, machismo sexual y satisfacción sexual

Abstract

La mayor parte de las sociedades están construidas en base a estructuras jerárquicas donde unos grupos tienen más poder que otros. Una de las estructuras más invariables en todos los sistemas sociales es la cultura patriarcal que se materializa en la dominancia del hombre sobre la mujer; y uno de los aspectos donde la dominancia está todavía más presente es en la sexualidad. Partiendo de esta premisa, la presente investigación tiene como finalidad estudiar si la dominancia y el machismo permiten predecir el nivel de satisfacción sexual de las personas a través de una perspectiva de género. Para ello, se han aplicado tres instrumentos a 194 participantes: Escala de Orientación a la Dominancia Social (Patto, Sidanius y Stallworth, 1994), Cuestionario de Machismo Sexual (Díaz, Rosas y González, 20 JO) y la Escala de Satisfacción Sexual (Rosalba, 2010). A la vista de los resultados, no ha sido posible realizar predicciones entre las variables principales. No obstante, se han obtenido diferencias significativas entre los grupos de sexo y edad. Las conclusiones explican la influencia que las expectativas y las construcciones sociales ejercen en la percepción de la satisfacción sexual.

Most societies are built based on hierarchical structures in which sorne groups have more power than others. One of the most unchanging structures in all social systems is the patriarchal culture that materializes in the dorninance of men over women; and one of the aspects where dominance is even more present is in sexuality. Based on this premise, the purpose of this research is to study whether dominance and sexism allow to predict people's sexual satisfaction leve! through a gender perspective. In order to achieve this, three instruments have been applied to 194 participants: Social Dominance Orientation Scale (Patto, Sidanius and Stallworth, 1994), MaJe Chauvinism Sexual Questionnaire (Díaz, Rosas and González, 2010) and the Sexual Satisfaction Scale (Rosalba, 2010). In the light of the results, it has not been possible to conduct predictions between the main variables. However, significant differences ha ve been obtained between the gender and age groups. The conclusions explain the influence that expectations and social structures exert on the perception of sexual satisfaction.
