Abstract
This project will present a study of the different applications for renewable hydrogen, making a comparison of the impact that it would have in a period of 20 years, in economic and environmental terms, with the current applications that do not use renewable hydrogen.
Within this analysis, the necessary parts of a hydrogen plant will be discussed, as well as the necessary electricity and water consumption. Emphasis will also be placed on the different sectors in which hydrogen can be used apart from public transport.
In this way we will focus on the use of this renewable resource in the transport sector and more specifically in urban transport, where it is still in the process of being implemented.
The comparative study of urban public transport with green hydrogen technology in contrast to fossil fuels will be carried out for a medium-sized Spanish city, between 250,000 and 350,000 inhabitants.
To do this, data has been obtained from an administrative concession for urban public transport, in force, and whose bus fleet currently runs on fossil fuels. For reasons of confidentiality, both the name of the city and that of the concession company are omitted from the study.
