Education and skill mismatches among immigrants: The impact of host language proficiency

Este artículo se pregunta hasta qué punto el dominio de la lengua de acogida puede asegurar a los inmigrantes contra el riesgo de acabar en puestos de trabajo inadecuados. Utilizando las oleadas de 2003 a 2016 de la base de datos Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA), el documento discrimina entre tres formas de desajuste, la sobrecualificación, la infracualificación y la sobrecualificación.

This paper asks to what extent host language proficiency can insure immigrants against the risk of ending up in mismatched jobs. Using the 2003-2016 waves of the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA), the paper discriminates between three forms of mismatch, overqualification, underqualification and overskilling.
