《福音历史图集》对晚明绘画理念的影响 (The Influence of "Evangelicae Historiae Imagines" in Late Ming China)

Abstract

在17 世纪上半叶中西文化交流的历史背景中，最早进入中国的耶稣会士带来了《福音历史图集》。对该图集进行模仿的劳费尔画册中有一幅写有“玄宰笔意”的画。本文在巴恩哈特（Richard Barnhart）对劳费尔画册的研究基础上，对中国画师有关西方艺术的理解及“误解”进行讨论。本文比较了《福音历史图集》所体现的欧洲绘画理念与董其昌所崇尚的和禅宗有密切关系的晚明绘画理念的异同。

This article reflects upon a book of images which the first Jesuits in Beijing used to enter into contact with Chinese people. Scholarship has shown that the book in question, Evangelicae Historiae Imagines (EHI, Antwerp, 1593) designed by Jerome Nadal, was received in line with Chinese ways. Nadal’s book constitutively linked message and picture, and this was also the case with the mainstream Late Ming schools of poetry and painting, as represented by Dong Qichang 董其昌 (1555–1636). This article explores the controversial reactions that the EHI and their use of perspective arguably provoked, showing how a pictorial technique can impact in unforeseen ways, even in the manner in which individuals access the spiritual.
