Abstract

La política en Oriente Próximo está vinculada a las comunidades tribales extendidas por el territorio, al margen de las fronteras de los Estados. Las guerras en Libia y Yemen confirman que cualquier estrategia falla si no se tienen en cuenta factores como etnia, clase y tribu.

Occidente desconoce en gran parte las tribus de Oriente Próximo así como su papel histórico y político. Tiende a ignorar este aspecto en cualquier análisis debido a su mentalidad alejada del concepto tribu. Por el contrario, la visión occidental del mundo está profundamente arraigada en Westfalia, donde se formula el Estado-nación.
