PERCEPCIONES GENERACIONALES SOBRE INMIGRACIÓN Y CRIMINALIDAD: UN ENFOQUE COMPARATIVO

Abstract

El presente proyecto pretende comparar las perspectivas de la sociedad sobre la inmigración y la delincuencia, enfocándose en el sentimiento de inseguridad ciudadana. Estas perspectivas corresponden a dos grupos de estudio: por un lado, los jóvenes entre 18 y 25 años y, por otro lado, las personas mayores de 65 años. Las generaciones cambian constantemente a lo largo del tiempo y ello influye en diversos factores, como podría ser el “fear of crime” o miedo al delito. Como consecuencia de esto, las políticas en materia de seguridad deben amoldarse a cada momento del tiempo y tener en cuenta las actitudes de todos sus ciudadanos. Mediante una revisión bibliográfica de las diferentes actitudes de cada grupo y de los factores que modifican dichas actitudes, se busca comprender cómo distintas generaciones perciben y reaccionan ante fenómenos migratorios, sus opiniones ante la delincuencia y si esta se relaciona con la inmigración. Asimismo, la recopilación de datos a través de cuestionarios, permitirá conocer las diferencias y similitudes de ambos grupos de edad y analizar qué otras variables influyen en las percepciones de inseguridad.

This project aims to compare society´s perspectives on immigration and crime, focusing on the feeling of citizen insecurity. These perspectives refer to two study groups: on the one hand, youth between 18 and 25 years old and on the other hand, people over 65 years old. Generations are constantly changing over time, and it affects different factors, such as fear of crime. Consequently, security policies must adapt to each moment of time and consider the attitudes of all its citizens. Through a bibliographic review of the different attitudes of each group and the factors that influence these attitudes, understanding is sought regarding how different generations perceive and react to migratory phenomena, their opinions regarding crime and whether it is related to immigration. Furthermore, the collection of data through questionnaires will reveal the knowledge of the differences and similarities of both age groups and indicate what other variables influence perceptions of insecurity.
