Abstract

El presente ensayo analiza el fenómeno de quienes se alejan de la Iglesia y de la fe. El autor identifica tres círculos de influencia: el contexto sociorreligioso, la Iglesia misma y las decisiones personales. En el primer círculo, se discute cómo la secularización ha llevado a un cambio en la cultura religiosa, con un énfasis en la espiritualidad individual en lugar de la religión institucional. En el segundo círculo, se examinan las acciones y actitudes de la Iglesia que pueden contribuir al alejamiento, incluyendo la confrontación con la secularización, la polarización política y la falta de atención a las necesidades de la gente. El tercer círculo se enfoca en la experiencia individual y la importancia de la fe como un viaje personal, con sus momentos de asentimiento, distanciamiento y vulnerabilidad.

This essay analyses the phenomenon of those who distance themselves from the Church and from the faith. The author identifies three spheres of influence; the socio-religious sphere, the Church itself and personal decisions. The way in which secularisation has led to a change in religious culture, emphasising individual spirituality instead of institutional religion, is discussed in the first sphere. In the second sphere, the actions and attitudes of the Church that may contribute to distancing, including confrontation with secularisation, political polarisation and a lack of attention to people’s needs, are examined. The third sphere focuses on individual experience and the importance of faith as a personal journey, marked by assent, distancing and vulnerability.
