Emprendimiento social en España: valoración de la adecuación del ecosistema español para la aplicación y desarrollo del Venture Philanthropy.

Abstract

El término Venture Philanthropy fue acuñado originalmente por John D. Rockefeller III en 1969, cuando lo definió como “una forma aventurera de aproximación a la financiación de causas sociales con poca popularidad”. Surgió tras un incremento de la concienciación pública sobre la falta de ayudas, provenientes de instituciones gubernamentales y otros métodos clásicos de financiación, a causas sociales que suponían un retorno de beneficios poco atractivo.

Por tanto, el objetivo de este estudio es analizar el concepto de Venture Philanthropy desde sus orígenes en el Nuevo Continente, hasta su integración en la sociedad española, atendiendo a su vez al interés sobre el mismo ya existente a nivel europeo.The term Venture Philanthropy was originally coined by John D. Rockefeller III in 1969, when he defined it as a “new adventurous approach to unpopular social causes”. It emerged after an increment in public awareness about the lack of social aid, provided by governmental institutions and other classic financing methods, to social causes that involved uninviting return of profits.

Thus, the aim of this paper is to analyze the concept of Venture Philanthropy from its origins in the New Continent, until its integration in the Spanish society, analyzing simultaneously the actual interest that already existed at an European level.
