Identificación de patrones en la actitud de los estudiantes universitarios ante su formación.

Abstract

La investigación sobre patrones en las actitudes de los estudiantes ante el aprendizaje pretende ayudar en la definición de estrategias de enseñanza en la etapa universitaria. Identificar dichos patrones y analizar si existen diferencias entre los grupos de estudiantes puede ayudar a personalizar los métodos de enseñanza dependiendo del colectivo al que va dirigido. Los objetivos de este Trabajo son identificar patrones, analizar las diferencias entre los grupos de estudiantes y ayudar en la creación de estrategias dedicadas al fomento de las actitudes positivas en los estudiantes. Para poder crear los grupos de estudiantes se han recabado datos a través de un cuestionario dirigido a los estudiantes de las diferentes Facultades y Escuelas de la Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Con un ejercicio de clustering jerárquico con enlace Ward.D2 y distancia euclídea se han creado tres clústeres de estudiantes en base a las actitudes que presentan ante el aprendizaje. En primer lugar, se ha identificado un grupo de estudiantes en la fase intermedia de la etapa universitaria, centrados y disciplinados, con un perfil moderado en la mayoría de las variables. En segundo lugar, un clúster formado por alumnos en los últimos años de Universidad que destacan en variables como la exploración, la resiliencia o la proactividad, actitudes asociadas a estudiantes exitosos. Finalmente, se ha observado un grupo de estudiantes que están comenzando esta etapa con puntuaciones medias menores en las variables consideradas positivas, pero con una puntuación alta en variables como la exploración, lo que indica que no son conformistas y buscan otras maneras de aprender.Research on patterns in students' attitudes to learning aims to help in the definition of teaching strategies at university level. Identifying such patterns and analyzing whether there are differences between groups of students can help to personalize teaching methods depending on the target group. The objectives of this work are to identify patterns, to analyze the differences between the groups of students and to help in the creation of strategies dedicated to the promotion of positive attitudes in students. To create the student groups, data has been collected through a questionnaire addressed to the students of the different Faculties and Schools of Comillas Pontifical University. Using a hierarchical clustering exercise with Ward.D2 linkage and Euclidean distance, three clusters of students have been created based on their attitudes towards learning. Firstly, a group of students in the intermediate phase of the university stage, focused and disciplined, with a moderate profile in most of the variables, has been identified. Secondly, a cluster formed by students in the final years of university who stand out in variables such as exploration, resilience and proactivity, and attitudes associated with successful students. Finally, a group of students who are beginning this stage has been observed with lower mean scores in the variables considered positive, but with a high score in variables such as exploration, which indicates that they are not conformists and seek other ways of learning.
