Abstract

This master's thesis focuses on improving and optimizing the CTG process at Ebury, a global fintech company that, by its very nature, must keep its customer information up to date as part of the KYC (Know Your Customer) reassessment process. The project builds upon a previous solution that was quite manual and tedious, and aims to automate it, thereby improving its performance and reducing errors. The project consists of three main steps: improving the data fed into the LLM (by creating new regular expressions and cleaning patterns, as well as enhancing existing ones); comparing and selecting the best possible LLM (Gemini 2.5, 2.5-pro, 2.5 flash-lite); and fully migrating the project to Sigma (moving from the old process, which alternated between Looker and a spreadsheet to achieve the desired result, to the new process where everything is centralized in Sigma). The result achieved—though incomplete due to time constraints and with future work proposed—has proven to be extremely useful for all teams involved in the process, yielding significant time savings in building the final package for all participating analysts.
