Crimen organizado, terrorismo, delincuencia sexual en grupo

Abstract

Organized crime has always been present in societies since the beginnings, although its form has been evolving and transforming in order to survive no matter the context. At this moment, the principal mafias are the Camorra, Cosa Nostra and the `Ndrangueta. Even though all of them share the same country, their structure and activities are pretty different and how they “do business” too. Historically, women have always had a secondary role, being their principal activity to keep the family together and to give moral support to their husband. Due to several circumstances, including the introduction of new legislation, which led to an intensification of the anti-mafia fight and this to many bosses from different clans to prison. This required a wider workforce and the only ones left free were women so its importance inside these organized groups increased. Also, due to the shift in activities, they went from imposing their power through violence to using more discrete methods focusing their strength on business, which required a different knowledge, more present in women. It is true that there are big differences between the different mafias, being the Camorra the one where women are able to obtain higher positions but always related to men with whom they were related, it means that only wives, mothers, sisters or daughters of the bosses could get these powerful positions
