El impacto de las nuevas tecnologías en el empleo en España: sustitución tecnológica y necesidad de adaptación

Abstract

La introducción de nuevas tecnologías siempre ha ido acompañada de cierta inquietud en torno al futuro laboral de los trabajadores, en la medida en que éstas puedan realizar sus tareas sin necesidad de trabajo humano. Este trabajo explora la vulnerabilidad del mercado laboral español ante las tecnologías más modernas que impliquen un mayor grado de automatización o sustitución. Como consecuencia, se explica cómo se desarrollará el progresivo desplazamiento de trabajadores hacia sectores, actividades o ocupaciones dónde se potencien las capacidades que las tecnologías todavía no pueden realizar.New technological advances in terms of smart machines, robotics and artificial intelligence challenge the current situation of the human workforce. The introduction of the latest technologies outperforms the abilities of humans in an increasing range of activities. Therefore, this paper analyses the impact of those technologies in the Spanish labor market, taking into account both the destructive and the creative effect. It also identifies the skills needed to adapt to the technological revolution, as well as the areas in which human work can still be dominant.
