Práctica del espacio e identidad social. Cómo el espacio «construye» un grupo y cómo el grupo hace del espacio parte de su identidad

Abstract

El texto analiza cómo la dimensión espacial influye en la construcción de la identidad social, especialmente en el contexto de las primeras comunidades cristianas. A partir del "giro espacial" en las ciencias sociales y las teorías de Henri Lefebvre, el autor explora cómo el espacio no solo es un lugar físico, sino una construcción social cargada de significados, símbolos y prácticas. Aplicando este marco a los textos neotestamentarios, especialmente a las cartas paulinas, muestra cómo las comunidades cristianas utilizaron espacios vividos (como la “Cena del Señor” o el cuerpo de Cristo) para redefinir su identidad y transformar sus relaciones sociales, incluso en contextos de marginalidad dentro del Imperio romano.

Drawing on the "spatial turn" in the social sciences and the theories of Henri Lefebvre, the author explores how space is not only a physical place, but a social construction loaded with meanings, symbols and practices. Applying this framework to New Testament texts, especially the Pauline letters, he shows how Christian communities used lived spaces (such as the ‘Lord's Supper’ or the body of Christ) to redefine their identity and transform their social relations, even in contexts of marginality within the Roman Empire.
