Abstract

La lectura de este libro es una invitación a prestar atención. Un buen libro de ética en donde se trata de las grandes cuestiones relacionadas con el meollo de la vida humana. Porque de eso va la ética, de lo que a todos nos incumbe. Lo que la tradición socrática ha llamado el cuidado del alma está esencialmente vinculado con los demás. Esto significa que la patria de lo humano no es el ?soy?, sino el ?aquí me tienes?. De ella surge la auténtica solidaridad. Esta sensibilidad es también la condición del admirarse de la vida. La mirada atenta es admiración, que Descartes situaba como la primera de todas las pasiones. Lo que lleva a decir que, para escribir sobre ética, hay que estar admirado, hay que estar apasionado por la vida.Cuando los decorados de lo banal desaparecen, sólo queda lo que de veras cuenta. Lo único que de veras cuenta.

What the Socratic tradition has called the care of the soul is essentially linked to others. This means that the homeland of the human being is not “I am,” but rather “here I am for you.” From this arises genuine solidarity. This sensitivity is also the condition for being amazed by life. An attentive gaze is a form of wonder, which Descartes regarded as the first of all passions. This leads us to say that, in order to write about ethics, one must be filled with wonder and deeply passionate about life.
