Abstract

The main aim of this work will be a return-risk analysis of the performance of two different investment asset allocation with different portfolios. For this purpose, I will work with hsitorical series of six american indexes which I have obtained from Thomson Reuters. The work will consist firstly in the description of the most commonly used investment analysis market and an introduction and description of the different assets that can make up each asset allocation. Secondly, I will do a return-risk analysis of six portfolios for each asset allocation and with different investment rates for the different assets invested for a defined investor. The first one, which I will call traditional asset allocation, will be invested in three indexes, bonds, money market and equity. The second one, wich I will call non-traditional asset allocation, will be invested in addition to those mencioned for the first one, also in real estate, commodities and high yield bonds. By studying the returns, volatility, VaR and the method of Markowitz. Finally, I will study which portfolio is more efficient in terms of return-risk. For this purpose, I will use Sharpe ratio.
