Abstract

This academic work consists in a study about the configuration of a new concept of Peace, which will be able to reach stability and real coexistence to the world. For that reason, we will study the Catholic Church’s performance as an international actor in the scenario of the Cold War to see how this new vision of peace was created, while the world was ruled by uncertainty and tension. Following the constructivist theory, the efforts made by the representatives of the Catholic Church (Popes: Pius XII, John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I and John Paul II) will be analysed, to see how they created a new Peace’s conception that could overcome the ideas that had put to the world in a spiral of hatred and violence.
