ESG, Sostenibilidad y Responsabilidad Social Corporativa en el sector automovilístico europeo

Abstract

El proyecto analiza los conceptos de Sostenibilidad, ESG y RSC en el sector automovilístico europeo, particularizando el enfoque en el Grupo Volkswagen, Stellantis, Grupo Renault y Grupo BMW. Indaga sobre conceptos clave, evolución histórica, el marco legal europeo, y su impacto en la industria. En cuanto a la evolución histórica, se muestra cómo en un principio este tipo de conceptos se mostraban a través de prácticas filantrópicas y, con el paso del tiempo, evolucionaron a estrategias integrales de sostenibilidad, incorporando estándares internacionales. El análisis legislativo incluye normativas de obligado cumplimiento, directivas como Directiva de Información No Financiera, así como pactos alcanzados como el Pacto Verde Europeo, que promueven la transición hacia tecnologías limpias. El análisis empresarial detalla acciones en descarbonización, igualdad de género, formación, economía circular y gobierno corporativo. Volkswagen basa su estrategia en la mitigación de los daños ocasionados tras su famoso Dieselgate; Stellantis destaca en prácticamente todos los aspectos; Renault dispone de buenos resultados en el aspecto medioambiental; y BMW en el apartado social y de gobierno. El informe concluye que, aunque las estrategias ESG y RSC mejoran sosteniblemente y el estudio se ha realizado bajo unos criterios específicos, sería bueno poder tener una guía más detallada sobre la que todos los fabricantes operen y así los medidores serían comunes y no faltaría información.The project analyzes the concepts of Sustainability, ESG and CSR in the European automotive sector, focusing on the Volkswagen Group, Stellantis, Renault Group and BMW Group. It explores key concepts, historical evolution, the European legal framework, and its impact on the industry.

In terms of historical evolution, it shows how in the beginning these types of concepts were shown through philanthropic practices and, over time, evolved into comprehensive sustainability strategies, incorporating international standards. The legislative analysis includes mandatory regulations, directives such as the Non-Financial Reporting Directive, as well as agreements such as the European Green Pact, which promote the transition to clean technologies.

The business analysis details actions in decarbonization, gender equality, training, circular economy and corporate governance. Volkswagen bases its strategy on mitigating the damage caused after its famous Dieselgate; Stellantis stands out in practically all aspects; Renault has good results in the environmental aspect; and BMW in the social and governance section.

The report concludes that, although ESG and CSR strategies are improving sustainably and the study has been carried out under specific criteria, it would be good to have a more detailed guide on which all manufacturers operate and thus the meters would be common and there would be no lack of information.
