Abstract

The financial industry has grown up very quickly in the last twenty years, not only in the national area also international. The objective of this paper is to analyze the evolution of a few mutual funds and their own benchmarks related to the GDP cycles of each economy. The results show us some important differences in macroeconomic and stock markets. We also evaluated the performances using the currency theory models of portfolio analysis, with special focus in the CAPM model and the simple regression model, showing the inefficient of them. To conclude we had realized a study by differences achieving some interesting results that clash with the CAPM model, offering a new perspective in the active and passive management debate.
