TRADUCCIÓN Y TRATAMIENTO DE TÉRMINOS JURÍDICOS EN EL CINE: ANÁLISIS DE LA TRADUCCIÓN EN-ESP DE "LAS DOS CARAS DE LA VERDAD"

Abstract

La traducción audiovisual y la traducción jurídica son, en términos generales, dos de las modalidades de traducción más relevantes en el plano internacional como medios de contribución a la comunicación entre personas de distintas culturas. En este trabajo, teniendo en cuenta las peculiaridades de ambas, se revisará el guion en inglés y en español de la película de temática legal Las dos caras de la verdad. A partir de este guion en inglés, se observa la traducción de la terminología jurídica al español, se estudian las dificultades de traducción, y se analizan y comentan las soluciones de traducción alcanzadas.Audiovisual and legal translation are, in general terms, two of the main types of translation in the international arena as means to contribute to cross-cultural communication. In this paper, bearing in mind the characteristics of both types of translation, we will review the script in English and Spanish of the movie “Primal Fear”. Based on the English script, we will look at the Spanish translation of legal terms, study the difficulties of translation, as well as analyze and comment the different translation solutions used throughout the movie.
