Fútbol y violencia de género

Abstract

El presente trabajo analiza la posible relación entre la actividad futbolística y las llamadas pertinentes registradas en el Servicio 016 en el País Vasco durante el periodo 2021-2026. Para ello, se construyó una base de datos diaria integrando información oficial del Servicio 016 con una base futbolística elaborada específicamente para el estudio a partir de datos obtenidos mediante la API deportiva API-Football. La base final incorpora información diaria para las provincias de Álava, Bizkaia y Gipuzkoa, incluyendo variables relacionadas con la existencia de actividad futbolística, resultados deportivos, goles anotados y balance de goles. A partir de esta información se realizaron análisis descriptivos, comparaciones de medias y estimaciones econométricas mediante modelos de regresión lineal OLS. Los resultados muestran que, aunque existen pequeñas diferencias descriptivas entre determinados contextos futbolísticos, las principales variables deportivas analizadas no presentan una relación estadísticamente significativa con el número diario de llamadas pertinentes registradas en el Servicio 016 una vez incorporados los controles temporales y territoriales. En cambio, sí aparecen diferencias asociadas a determinadas variables estructurales, especialmente entre provincias y entre fines de semana y días laborables. El trabajo aporta además una base de datos original y una metodología de integración de información institucional y deportiva que pueden servir como punto de partida para futuras investigaciones relacionadas con acontecimientos deportivos e indicadores sociales.This dissertation analyses the potential relationship between football activity and relevant calls registered by the 016 Service in the Basque Country during the period 2021–2026. To this end, a daily database was constructed by integrating official data from the 016 Service with a football database specifically developed for this study using information obtained through the API-Football sports API. The final dataset includes daily information for the provinces of Álava, Bizkaia, and Gipuzkoa, incorporating variables related to football activity, match outcomes, goals scored, and goal balance. Based on this information, descriptive analyses, mean comparisons, and econometric estimations using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression models were conducted. The results show that, although there are small descriptive differences across certain football-related contexts, the main sporting variables analysed do not exhibit a statistically significant relationship with the daily number of relevant calls registered by the 016 Service once temporal and territorial controls are included. In contrast, differences are observed with respect to certain structural factors, particularly across provinces and between weekdays and weekends. The study also contributes an original database and a methodology for integrating institutional and sports-related information, which may serve as a starting point for future research on sporting events and social indicators.
