Climatización de un aeropuerto en Gijón

Abstract

The design will fulfill the current technical and legal conditions included in the Reglamento de Instalaciones Térmicas de Edificios. The building consists of three floors, the ground floor and the first floor to be conditioned, and the roof where most of the air conditioning equipment will be installed. The ground floor consists mainly of check-in areas, luggage collection areas, departure and arrival lobbies, passport control and car rental, with a total air-conditioning area of 26,930.68 m^2. The first floor consists of the pre-boarding rooms, a cafeteria, security control, a souvenir shop and an ARS self-service center, with an area of 23156.72 m^2

According to the Reglamento de Instalaciones Térmicas de Edificios we establish interior climate conditions that ensure comfort at all times. The selected conditions will be 24 °C and a RH of 50% in summer and 22 °C and a RH of 50% in winter. The external climatic conditions to be overcome are obtained from the Guía Técnica de Condiciones Climáticas Exteriores de Proyecto.

Once the conditions of departure of our airport have been established, we must calculate the thermal loads to overcome, both in winter and in summer. The thermal loads in summer will be calculated for the most unfavorable month and hour considering the orientation of the premises. The thermal loads that affect the premises can be divided into external and internal loads. External loads are composed of transmission loads and radiation charges, while internal charges are the level of occupancy of the room and the heat provided by the equipment and lighting.

In winter we will calculate the thermal losses for the month of January at 8 o'clock in the morning and only the charges produced by transmission will be considered, since the other charges are being favorable.

When designing the air conditioning system, we have evaluated two options: an air-water system and an all-air system. The rooms with smaller size and lower thermal load will be air-conditioned with an air-water system while those that are larger will use an all-air system.

Once we have which zones will be acclimatized with air conditioners and the which by fan-coils, we calculate the amount of equipment to install. In the air-water systems we will need a total of 90 fan-coils for the different rooms, the air will be driven through the ducts by means of 2 fans and it will be extracted with the help of 6 extractors. In the systems all water we will need 14 air conditioners, one per zone (considering that some rooms have been divided into subzones due to the large size).

The network of pipes will allow the arrival of water from the refrigerating machine or boiler to the air conditioners and fan-coils (impulsion pipes) and to transport it back (return pipes). It should be noted that the cold and hot water circuits are independent.

Once we have found the pipe network, we need the pumps that will allow us to drive the water. Using the critical path method, we find the total height that the pump must overcome. For reasons of safety in the event of failure, two equal pumps will always be installed in parallel.

Through the network of duct, we will get air to all the rooms. We will have 4 duct networks: the external air ducts that will carry the air to the fan-coils and once mixed with the return air will provide the impulsion air, in parallel are the extraction ducts that extract the outside air from the rooms. In the systems all air the air conditioner units which has an integrated fan, will bring the air to the rooms by means of the impulsion ducts that have the diffusers as a terminal unit and through the return grilles the air is returned to the air conditioners. A total of 862 diffusers and 244 grids were necessary.

The production of water necessary for our entire system has been achieved through 5 boilers that provide a total of 7000 kW and 3 refrigeration units that supply a total of 3660 kW.

Finally, a total budget for the installation including all the materials used, assembly and commissioning of the design, amounting to € 11,360,293.79 (eleven million three hundred and sixty thousand two hundred and ninety-three euros and seventy-nine cents)
