Abstract

This Bachelor's Degree Final Project focuses on improving the performance of a BMW M4 F82 for track use, while maintaining its road worthy certification in Spain. The aim is to tune the vehicle's engine by selecting and justifying the necessary components to achieve a maximum power output of 700-750 horsepower and 800-900 Nm of torque. Once the components are selected, a mathematical study will be conducted to verify if the target figures are reached. An in-depth analysis of the engine is carried out to identify its weaknesses and propose solutions. The study also includes a brief examination of the chassis, specifically addressing improvements in suspension, brakes, and aerodynamics. The objective in this area is to find the best aftermarket options that meet the project's requirements and comply with homologation standards. A crucial aspect of the project is the homologation of the modifications made. The necessary information is collected, and relevant regulations are analyzed to ensure the vehicle complies with all legal requirements. Lastly, the total project budget is estimated and compared to the initial performance of the vehicle and other similar vehicles. This evaluation allows for an assessment of the cost-performance ratio and determines the economic feasibility.
