Estudio de viabilidad para capnometria portátil

Abstract

Este proyecto consiste en el desarrollo de un capnógrafo, el cual es un aparato cuyo fin es representar en una gráfica una medida de CO2, ya sea una concentración, una presión parcial, etc. El proyecto es en colaboración con el SUMMA, que quiere actualizar las ambulancias, donde llevan su capnógrafo. Quieren instalar una Tablet donde se lleve el capnógrafo en forma de aplicación y que se comunique por bluetooth con un capnómetro que se diseñará e irá pegado al paciente.

Es una práctica habitual en el sector médico tener un constante seguimiento del CO2 exhalado por un paciente. Una correcta capnografía puede llegar a ser una gran guía instantánea del nivel de CO2 arterial, además, suministra información sobre el ritmo y la frecuencia respitatoria. Esta técnica se utiliza bastante en urgencias y, actualmente, quieren evolucionar e instalar una tablet desde la que se lleve toda monitorización del paciente, por lo que hace falta actualizar la infraestructura.

El sistema diseñado constará de 2 partes principales: - Capnómetro: irá pegado al paciente y su misión será extraer muestras de la exhalación del paciente mediante una microbomba; medir la concentración de CO2, transmitir la medida por Bluetooth al capnógrafo y controlar el caudal de la bomba. - Capnógrafo: consiste en una aplicación de móvil que mostrará en un gráfico los datos recibidos.The project will consist in the development of a capnograph which is a device that graphs CO2 measurements, it could be measured as a concentration, a partial pressure, etc. This project is in collaboration with SUMMA, who wants to actualize its ambulances, where they carry their capnographs. It is common in medical issues to have the CO2 levels in a patient´s exhalation constantly monitored. A correct capnography could result in a great guide of the instantaneous arterial CO2 pressure. Also, it can give information about breathing frequency and rhythm. Capnographs are often used in ambulances, and currently, a tablet which is wirelessly connected to all sensors is being installed in them, instead of having a display per sensor.

The system developed will have two principal parts: - Capnometer: it will be attached to the patient and will be in charge of taking samples of the patient´s exhalation with a pump, measuring the CO2 in the sample, sending it to the tablet and controlling the flow of the pump. - Capnograph: it consists in an application for the tablet which will graph the measures received
