Tiempos difíciles, no exentos de esperanza. Por una mayor calidad de la dimensión intelectual de la misión de la Iglesia

Abstract

Pablo de Tarso, el Cardenal Martini y el teólogo Olegario González de Cardedal han creído y vivido en profundidad, también en circunstancias no siempre favorables, la dimensión intelectual de la Iglesia. Su recuerdo en estas páginas quiere ser una invitación a la vuelta a los orígenes, y a que su ejemplo anime a los responsables de las facultades de teología y centros teológicos a afrontar con valentía las dificultades y frenos que actualmente existen para que la iglesia sirva, también intelectualmente, al Pueblo de Dios y al conjunto de la sociedad. Igualmente, para que pongan en práctica sin prisa pero sin pausa lo que, entre otros, el proemio de Veritatis Gaudium subraya con meridiana claridad.

Paul the Apostle, Cardinal Martini and the theologian Olegario González de Cardedal all deeply believed and lived in the intellectual dimension of the Church, although not always in favourable circumstances. This paper aims to remember them in such a way as to invite the reader to return to the very beginning and for their example to encourage the heads of theology faculties and theological centres to bravely face the difficulties and setbacks that currently exist so that the Church can serve, also intellectually, the People of God and society as a whole. Equally, to encourage them to put into practice, not overnight, but on an ongoing basis, what, among others, the Veritatis Gaudium foreword underlines with the utmost clarity.
