Abstract
.Cooperative learning has multiple benefits according to the experience of university students. Positive aspects include mutual enrichment of knowledge, a sense of belonging to the group, attention to diversity, and the development of key skills such as negotiation, creativity, and self-regulation of work. It also strengthens trust and camaraderie among students. However, some students mention minor difficulties, such as lack of involvement from some members, organizational issues, difficulty in reaching consensus, and time loss in decision-making. Research supports the effectiveness of cooperative learning, highlighting its positive impact on knowledge acquisition and the development of key competencies. The integration of this approach in universities responds to the labor market demand for autonomous professionals capable of working in teams. Research by authors such as Slavin (1992, 1993) and Vygotsky (1978) underscores its impact on student motivation, cognitive development, and information retention through collaboration. Cooperative learning also promotes critical thinking, metacognition, and greater active involvement. Additionally, it strengthens self-esteem, reduces anxiety, and fosters the building of learning communities. Despite the benefits, both students and teachers may have reservations due to past experiences or lack of preparation. Proper planning can ensure the success of this approach.
