This project addresses the design, manufacturing, and validation of a synchronous five-degree-of-freedom 3D printing platform through the retrofit of a commercial Cartesian printer (Prusa MK3S). To resolve the geometric tolerance flaws found in previous open-source designs, the mechanical assembly of the tilting and rotary bed was completely redesigned. Electronic management was achieved by integrating an industrial Duet 3 Mini 5+ board running RepRapFirmware to synchronously control the five motors in an open-loop configuration. In the software development section, the system's kinematics were modeled using homogeneous transformation matrices to solve both the forward and inverse kinematics problems. Based on this model, three proprietary slicing algorithms (indexed, volumetric, and mixed planar-cylindrical) were programmed in Python, alongside an interactive Digital Twin environment designed for numerical code trajectory prediction and the prevention of destructive collisions. Finally, the viability of the platform was successfully validated in the laboratory. After correcting preliminary layer-shifting flaws in three axes by applying SpreadCycle mode at a constant nominal current, multi-axis experimental trials were conducted. The system proved capable of the actual manufacturing of complex bodies of revolution and warped surfaces, culminating in the successful fabrication of a Kaplan turbine runner in a fully self-supporting manner, completely eliminating the use of mechanical support structures and preserving the surface integrity of the functional zones.en-GB
