El Informe Social. Colegio Oficial de Trabajo Social de Madrid

Abstract

The Social Report is part of the specific documentation of Social Work, and is defined as the technical opinion that serves as a documentary instrument and is exclusively elaborated and signed by a social worker. Throughout the history of this discipline, the Social Report has been defined and classified by multiple authors, who have gradually contributed their point of view regarding this document, all of them being relevant when defining this tool as we currently know it.

Furthermore, the Social Report is gaining more and more relevance as a right of citizenship and in our interrelation with other professions. It constitutes, as Fhotherigen and Vahedzian (2010) indicate, the showcase of our profession. With this tool, our competences and professional actions are reflected, significantly impacting the life of the person under care. Therefore, this document aims to be a practical guide provided by the authors of the document, small but useful, to help us as a profession to rethink, reflect, and analyze both the importance of the Social Report and the requirement for its elaboration of a professional and technical procedure. From the conviction that there is good professional practice and that these reports are proof of it, we offer you this document, which we hope will be useful.
