Methods: This is qualitative research with a descriptive design and an ethnographic approach using interviews with forty-five professionals from Spanish and Portuguese mental health units. Results: Professionals considered spirituality beneficial despite barriers such as lack of time and training. Conclusions: Further research and education are needed to strengthen spiritual care in mental health.en-GB
