Psicología del confinamiento

Abstract

At the onset of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, many research were devoted to assessing the impacts of containment on the general Spanish population without much emphasis on family habitus. Most of the literary productions on the Covid-19 pandemic were guides or guidelines for coping with family's confinement, as this was the most urgent task at the time. Given the situation of high anxiety, stress, and fear due to the virus, the initial and more urgent aim was to provide families with coping tools for coexistence during this situation, which is why researchers were not initially interested in conducting any kind of research on the impacts of lockdown on families, as it was a new, unstable situation with an unpredictable future. After months of home reclusion, the present work is an attempt to explore its impacts on the Spanish population in general and on family relationships in particular. In short, the aim of this work is twofold; it seeks to answer the question of how the confinement has influenced relations within the family (relationships of couples and relationships of parents and children) and, at the same time, it aims to offer some suggestions regarding communication within the family, which could have cushioned the impact of such effects on it.
