Tecnología e Inteligencia Artificial para un nuevo humanismo

Abstract

El capítulo reflexiona sobre el impacto de la inteligencia artificial (IA) en la sociedad contemporánea y la necesidad de integrarla en un marco humanista. Partiendo de sus orígenes en el seminario de Dartmouth (1956), se plantea que la IA, como producto humano, puede orientarse tanto al bien como al mal. Se exponen tres tesis: la IA es un artefacto humano susceptible de un uso ético o nocivo; su desarrollo actual y futuro transforma civilizaciones e incluso podría originar nuevas entidades trans o posthumanas; y requiere un enfoque multidisciplinar que supere la visión tecnocrática para integrar también las perspectivas política, jurídica y ética. Se añaden dos corolarios: la centralidad de la conciencia ética y la responsabilidad de ciudadanos, empresas e instituciones en la conducción de la IA hacia fines de progreso humano. El texto concluye que la tecnología, si se orienta con voluntad y claridad, puede contribuir a un nuevo humanismo basado en dignidad, libertad y justicia social.

his chapter reflects on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on contemporary society and the need to frame it within a humanistic perspective. Starting from its origins at the Dartmouth Seminar (1956), it is argued that AI, as a human creation, can be directed toward either good or harmful purposes. Three theses are presented: AI is a human artifact subject to ethical or unethical use; its current and future development transforms civilizations and could even lead to new trans- or posthuman entities; and it requires a multidisciplinary approach that transcends technocratic views by incorporating political, legal, and ethical perspectives. Two corollaries are added: the central role of ethical awareness and the responsibility of citizens, companies, and institutions to steer AI toward the common good. The chapter concludes that technology, when guided with determination and clarity, can contribute to a new humanism grounded in dignity, freedom, and social justice.
