Abstract

El aumento del paro que ha provocado la crisis del coronavirus agrava los problemas financieros de la Seguridad Social,. El crecimiento del paro y la destrucción de empresas amplían el déficit del sistema de pensiones más rápido de lo previsto porque desaparecen cotizantes. El sistema necesita una reforma para ser sostenible.

The COVID crisis has sharply increased unemployment rates. This fact worsens the financial situation of the Social Security. The rise in unemployment and the destruction of so many firms widen the deficit of the public pension system because of the dramatic fall in revenues. The system need to be reformed in order to become financially sustainable.
