Inversion en IA y burbujas financieras

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado analiza si el reciente auge bursátil asociado a la inteligencia artificial puede interpretarse como una posible burbuja financiera. Para ello, se estudia la evolución de varias empresas tecnológicas relevantes, como Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Meta, Amazon, Alphabet y Tesla, junto con índices de referencia como el S&P 500 y el Nasdaq Composite.

El trabajo combina un análisis descriptivo de precios, rentabilidades y ratios de valoración con una metodología econométrica basada en los test GSADF y BSADF, utilizados para detectar episodios de comportamiento explosivo en series financieras. Los resultados muestran una fuerte revalorización del sector tecnológico y una elevada concentración del mercado en torno a grandes compañías. Sin embargo, la evidencia no permite confirmar una burbuja generalizada comparable a la burbuja puntocom. Más bien, se identifican episodios puntuales de comportamiento explosivo en algunas empresas.This Bachelor's Thesis analyzes whether the recent stock market boom associated with artificial intelligence can be interpreted as a potential financial bubble. To do so, it examines the performance of several major technology companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Meta, Amazon, Alphabet and Tesla, together with benchmark indices such as the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite.

The thesis combines a descriptive analysis of prices, returns and valuation ratios with an econometric methodology based on the GSADF and BSADF tests, which are used to detect episodes of explosive behavior in financial time series. The results show a strong revaluation of the technology sector and a high degree of market concentration around large companies. However, the evidence does not confirm the existence of a generalized bubble comparable to the dot-com bubble. Rather, the findings point to specific episodes of explosive behavior in some companies.
