Plan de negocio de una start-up innovadora

Abstract

This Bachelor's Thesis develops the business plan for ART OLA, a web-based platform offering a digital course on contemporary art combined with financial education applied to art collecting, aimed at Spanish-speaking young adults between the ages of 20 and 35. The project is based on a dual premise: the growing interest of Millennials and Generation Z in art and alternative investments, and the persistence of access barriers that are predominantly cognitive in nature—such as a lack of confidence due to insufficient knowledge, perceptions of elitism, or unfamiliarity with purchasing channels—rather than strictly economic constraints. The methodology combines a theoretical framework that examines art both as a cultural sector and as a financial asset, a market and competitive environment analysis supported by primary research (a survey of young adults and interviews with industry professionals), and the application of strategic tools such as PESTEL, the Business Model Canvas, and SWOT analysis. Based on this foundation, the marketing, operational, and financial plans are developed, along with a functional prototype of the website and its course. The findings confirm the existence of an underserved niche within the Spanish-speaking market, with no direct competitor currently integrating art, investment, and community in a single offering. The financial model, featuring a break-even point that is achievable under the base-case scenario by the second year and supported by solid profitability indicators, demonstrates the project's economic viability. Ultimately, ART OLA is founded on the belief that understanding art should not be a privilege reserved for a select few, but rather an open gateway for any young person with the curiosity to learn.
