This Final Degree Project addresses the technical and economic design and evaluation of a self-consumption photovoltaic installation for a single-family home located in Pozuelo de Alarcón. The project arises within the context of the current energy transition, in which solar photovoltaic energy has established itself as one of the fastest-growing renewable technologies in the Spanish residential sector, also contributing to the fulfillment of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 7, 9, 11 and 12). The work is structured in several phases: a study of the regulatory and technological framework of self-consumption, an analysis of the site (roof orientation, tilt and shading), the characterization of the household's electricity consumption, including the impact of an electric vehicle added to the household consumption (hypothetic), and finally the design and simulation of more than 15 photovoltaic configurations using PVsyst software, considering different modules, inverters, string distributions and lithium battery storage systems. The results show that the Base Case, consisting of 8 modules of 600 Wp and a 4 kWac inverter (4.80 kWp, without battery), is the only economically profitable configuration, with a Net Present Value (NPV) of €2,665.82 and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 9.48%. Although the addition of batteries raises self-consumption to nearly 99%, their high investment cost makes these solutions financially unviable at current market prices, and they are proposed as a future improvement. The main conclusion of the study is that the installation is constrained by the available roof surface and by the timing mismatch between production and consumption, rather than by the solar resource itself. Design criteria should therefore prioritize actual self-consumption rather than simply maximizing installed capacity.en-GB
