The persecution of Yezidis by Daesh : a crime of genocide?

Abstract

La minoría kurda yazidí ha sido constantemente perseguida a lo largo de los años por su ideología y religión. Recientemente, los ataques perpetrados por el Daesh en la región de Sinjar han lanzado la pregunta sobre si se ha cometido Genocidio contra dicha comunidad o no. De acuerdo con la comisión de Naciones Unidas a cargo de la investigación de este caso y los testimonios de los supervivientes, parece que, efectivamente crímenes como asesinato, tortura, violaciones sexuales, esclavitud… han sido cometidos por este grupo terrorista.The Kurdish minority of Yezidis has been constantly persecuted by different ideology and religious groups. Recently, the attacks perpetrated by DAESH in the Sinjar region have thrown the question of if Genocide against them has been committed or not. According to the United Nations Commissions that have investigated the issue and the testimonies of the survivors and witnesses, it seems that, indeed, crimes such as murder, torture, rape, slavery... have been committed by this terrorist organization to the group.
