Abstract

Se subraya la actualidad de la célebre expresión ignaciana ubicándola en el marco de los Ejercicios Espirituales y cómo expresa el envío apostólico que recibe el ejercitante; la crisis del amor comprometido en el mundo contemporáneo hace que esta afirmación sea una urgencia eclesial contracultural. Son tres las dimensiones abordadas: no es posible anunciar el Evangelio sin compromiso personal; la iglesia ha hablado siempre de la importancia de hablar misericordiosamente con el prójimo como requisito para la salvación; y, en tercer lugar, la iglesia institucional tiene el compromiso de buscar la transformación de las estructuras humanas que causan indignidad e injusticia según lo enuncia en su doctrina social.

The relevance of the famous Ignatian expression is emphasized by placing it within the framework of the Spiritual Exercises and how it expresses the apostolic mission received by the exercitant; the crisis of committed love in the contemporary world makes this statement an urgent countercultural ecclesial need. Three dimensions are addressed: it is not possible to proclaim the Gospel without personal commitment; the Church has always emphasized the importance of speaking mercifully with others as a requirement for salvation; and, thirdly, the institutional Church is committed to seeking the transformation of human structures that cause indignity and injustice, as stated in its social doctrine.
