Abstract

Aproximadamente una cuarta parte de la diferencia de rentabilidad entre los mercados europeo y americano desde 2011 se debe a su diferente composición en cuanto a los sectores de telecomunicaciones y tecnología (los operadores de telecomunicaciones europeos han languidecido, percibidos como empresas del sector público, maduras y altamente reguladas, mientras que Apple, Amazon, Google y Microsoft han liderado la mayor subida en el Nasdaq). But the remaining three quarters of the difference in returns, and what has really marked the different evolution of both indexes, result from the banking sector. When European interest rates normalise, European banks will recover a large part of the difference in returns lost in compared to the American banks.
