El Éxodo como revelación en el pensamiento de Levinas

Abstract

El artículo analiza el libro bíblico del Éxodo como acontecimiento de revelación dentro del pensamiento de Emmanuel Levinas. Partiendo de la influencia conjunta de las tradiciones griega y judía en su filosofía, examina el concepto de acontecimiento y su relación con la temporalidad, la libertad y la alteridad. El estudio distingue los acontecimientos de Creación, Revelación y Redención y muestra cómo la Revelación implica una salida de sí y una apertura hacia el Otro. A continuación, interpreta el relato del Éxodo, especialmente la vocación de Moisés y la liberación de Israel, como paradigma de esa estructura relacional. El Éxodo aparece así como experiencia de libertad, responsabilidad y novedad, en la que el sujeto responde a una llamada que rompe su autosuficiencia y lo orienta hacia el otro.

The article analyses the biblical book of Exodus as an event of revelation within Emmanuel Levinas’s thought. Starting from the combined influence of the Greek and Jewish traditions on his philosophy, it examines the concept of event and its relationship with temporality, freedom and otherness. The study distinguishes the events of Creation, Revelation and Redemption, showing how Revelation entails a departure from oneself and an openness towards the Other. It then interprets the narrative of Exodus, particularly the calling of Moses and the liberation of Israel, as a paradigm of this relational structure. Exodus thus emerges as an experience of freedom, responsibility and novelty, in which the subject responds to a call that disrupts self-sufficiency and opens human existence towards the other, providing an important framework for understanding Levinas’s philosophical conception of revelation.
