ENTRE LA DIVULGACIÓN Y EL ESPECTÁCULO: NARRATIVAS MEDIÁTICAS DEL CRIMEN Y SU IMPACTO SOCIAL

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza el papel de los medios de comunicación en la construcción social del crimen a través de las narrativas del género true crime. Desde una perspectiva criminológica, se examina cómo los contenidos digitales representan el delito y configuran los marcos interpretativos sobre víctimas y de los agresores. Es una revisión bibliográfica y un análisis cualitativo de diversas narrativas mediáticas centradas en casos de crímenes conocidos. Se muestran patrones recurrentes en la construcción del relato, como centralidad narrativa del agresor, la reducción de la identidad de la víctima al hecho delictivo, la exposición continuada de víctimas y familiares y el uso de recursos dramáticos que favorecen la espectacularización del crimen. Los resultados evidencian tensiones entre el interés informativo, la demanda de entretenimiento del público y la necesidad de proteger la dignidad y los derechos de las personas implicadas. Se destaca la importancia de promover prácticas mediáticas más responsables que equilibren la libertad informativa con el respeto hacia las víctimas y una representación socialmente responsable del delito.This paper analyzes the role of the media in the social construction of crime through true crime narratives. From a criminological perspective, it examines how digital content represents crime and shapes interpretive frameworks about victims and perpetrators. It is a literature review and qualitative analysis of various media narratives focused on well known crime cases. Recurring patterns in the construction of the narrative are revealed, such as the narrative centrality of the perpetrator, the reduction of the victim's identity to the criminal act, the continued exposure of victims and family members, and the use of dramatic devices that favor the sensationalization of crime. The results reveal tensions between the interest in information, the public's demand for entertainment, and the need to protect the dignity and rights of those involved. The importance of promoting more responsible media practices that balance freedom of information with respect for victims and a socially responsible representation of crime is emphasized.
