EL DISCURSO DE WILLY BRANDT

Abstract

El presente trabajo realiza un análisis del discurso de aceptación del Premio Nobel de la Paz de 1971 otorgado a Willy Brandt, el entonces canciller de la República Federal Alemana. Lo hace a través de un repaso preliminar del contexto histórico que rodea al personaje, la labor de la interpretación y la ciencia de la retórica, además de realizar un estudio sobre las diferentes formas de analizar críticamente un discurso, y en especial el discurso político. Específicamente, se analiza la estructura, contenido y recursos presentes en el discurso de Willy Brandt titulado Política de paz en nuestro tiempo. Sobre su estructura se concluye que mantiene el orden de la retórica clásica, también se interpretan los elementos presentes en el discurso original en alemán para establecer el verdadero significado que quería transmitir el orador con su mensaje, y los recursos persuasivos del lenguaje que abundan en su disertación. Finalmente, se lleva a cabo una comparación no exhaustiva del mismo con los discursos pronunciados por sus homólogos premiados Nelson Mandela y Barack Obama junto con una presentación de la problemática de la interpretación de discursos.This paper analyzes the acceptance speech of the 1971 Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Willy Brandt, the then Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. It does so through a preliminary review of the historical context surrounding the character, the work of interpretation and the science of rhetoric, as well as a study of the different ways of critically analyzing a discourse, and especially political discourse. Specifically, it analyzes the structure, content and resources found in Willy Brandt's speech under the title Peace Policy in our Time. On its structure it is considered that it maintains the order of the classical rhetoric, also the elements found in the original speech in German are interpreted to establish the true meaning that the speaker wanted to transmit with his message, and the persuasive resources of the language that abound in his dissertation. Finally, a non-exhaustive comparison is conducted with the speeches given by his award-winning counterparts Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama together with a presentation of the problems of speech interpretation.
