Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado analiza el papel estratégico de la inteligencia artificial (IA) y las tecnologías emergentes en la construcción de una ventaja competitiva sostenible en startups tecnológicas. En un contexto marcado por la aceleración digital y el impacto del entorno post pandemia, se examina cómo estas organizaciones adoptan herramientas como el big data, el blockchain, el Internet de las Cosas (IoT) y la IA para escalar rápidamente, generar valor y transformar industrias tradicionales. A través de una metodología cualitativa y deductiva, basada en revisión teórica, estudio de casos reales y entrevistas exploratorias, se identifican tanto los beneficios derivados de la adopción tecnológica como los principales retos económicos, técnicos, éticos y regulatorios que enfrentan estas empresas. El estudio también profundiza en el impacto de la nueva regulación europea sobre IA, así como en la creciente necesidad de integrar principios de sostenibilidad, ética digital y cumplimiento normativo desde el diseño de los modelos de negocio. Se concluye que las startups que logran alinear la innovación tecnológica con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) y una visión responsable están mejor posicionadas para alcanzar una ventaja competitiva duradera en la economía del conocimiento.This Final Degree Project analyzes the strategic role of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies in building sustainable competitive advantage within technology startups. In a context shaped by accelerated digital transformation and the post-pandemic environment, the study explores how these organizations adopt tools such as big data, blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), and AI to scale rapidly, generate value, and disrupt traditional industries. Using a qualitative and deductive methodology, based on theoretical review, real case studies, and exploratory interviews, the research identifies both the benefits of technological adoption and the key economic, technical, ethical, and regulatory challenges these companies face. The study also delves into the impact of the new European AI regulation and the growing need to integrate sustainability principles, digital ethics, and regulatory compliance from the early stages of business model design. The findings suggest that startups capable of aligning technological innovation with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a responsible vision are better positioned to achieve long-term competitive advantage in the knowledge economy.
