La esperanza que somos, recibimos y damos

Abstract

En este artículo, la autora dirige nuestra atención, en primer lugar, a la dimensión antropológica de la esperanza. Una esperanza contemplada como un elemento constitutivo de nuestra naturaleza, como algo innato, esperanza natural, pero que aguarda nuestra decisión y acción para convertirse en una gran posibilidad en nuestra existencia: la virtud de la esperanza. Posteriormente, analiza cómo la gracia actúa en nuestra naturaleza y cómo, al abrirnos a ella y acogerla, puede transformar nuestros deseos más profundos y llevarnos más allá de nuestras propias posibilidades: la esperanza teologal. Para terminar, muestra por qué esta esperanza, a pesar de las apariencias, cuando se abre a los otros, no defrauda; y cómo los lugares de sufrimiento y dolor, ruptura y disminución se convierten en los espacios más propios de la emergencia de esta esperanza.

Artificial intelligence has taken hold today and affects all human dimensions. In this sense, it is important to reflect also on the influence of artificial intelligence on spirituality, in particular on how this influence may or may not affect the way we provide spiritual and religious assistance to those who come to our services. The article presented is a reflection written by three authors, constructed dialectically (Hegel). It begins, in the form of a thesis, with the assertion that artificial intelligence is an intermediary in the success of the therapeutic approach to spirituality integrated into the multidisciplinary care. Then, in antithesis, it counters that the appearance of veracity and universality of artificial intelligence shows its incapacity to transcend, to emote, to hope, as essential elements in the act of caring. It concludes by summarising that artificial intelligence can be used as an accelerator and mediator in care, but it is far from, and very unlikely to replace, the healing emotional and spiritual bond that humans have perfected over years of evolution. As a dialectical process, the text thus invites reflection on the new theses surrounding the use of AI in health and social care.
