Una teología de la esperanza para un mundo en guerra

Abstract

El capítulo propone una reflexión teológica centrada en la esperanza cristiana ante un contexto contemporáneo atravesado por múltiples formas de violencia y conflicto. Desde la convicción de que la teología debe “tener voz propia” frente a un mundo en guerra contra la vida, se plantean claves para sostener un sí radical a la vida y orientar la acción creyente hacia la paz, la fraternidad y el cuidado. En este marco, la esperanza no se entiende como evasión, sino como horizonte que permite discernir, resistir la deshumanización y abrir caminos de reconciliación. El texto se integra en una obra colectiva nacida de un curso de teología contemporánea y busca combinar intencionalidad divulgativa con rigor.

This chapter offers a theological reflection on Christian hope in today’s context of widespread violence and conflict. Framed within a collective volume that argues theology must have its own voice in a “world at war against life,” it presents hope not as escapism but as a horizon for discernment and commitment. The discussion highlights how hope can sustain a radical “yes” to life, resist dehumanization, and nurture practices oriented to peace, reconciliation, and care. By connecting hope with concrete responsibility, the chapter seeks to provide motivations for faith-inspired engagement amid systemic crises affecting societies and the planet. The contribution is part of a course-born book that aims to combine a divulgative and pastoral intention with theological rigor.
