Pensar el género y la identidad de género. Historia, filosofía y cultura.

Abstract

El capítulo aborda el género y la identidad de género desde tres perspectivas complementarias: histórica, filosófica y sociocultural. Recorre la evolución de los debates sobre igualdad, diferencia, construcción y deconstrucción del género, y examina autores clave como Judith Butler, Rosi Braidotti, Nancy Chodorow y Miquel Missé. A partir de ahí, plantea una reflexión crítica sobre grandes cuestiones como la relación entre sexo y género, el peso de la biología, la influencia de la cultura, el binarismo, la identidad en la infancia y adolescencia, y el impacto del individualismo y del contexto tecnocientífico actual. El capítulo defiende la necesidad de pensar estas cuestiones con prudencia, complejidad y enfoque interdisciplinar.

The chapter addresses gender and gender identity from three complementary perspectives: historical, philosophical, and sociocultural. It traces the development of debates on equality, difference, the construction and deconstruction of gender, and examines key authors such as Judith Butler, Rosi Braidotti, Nancy Chodorow, and Miquel Missé. From there, it offers a critical reflection on major issues such as the relationship between sex and gender, the role of biology, the influence of culture, binarism, identity in childhood and adolescence, and the impact of individualism and the current technoscientific context. The chapter argues for approaching these questions with prudence, complexity, and an interdisciplinary perspective.
