La finitud y la infinitud en la condición de criatura. Un diálogo con Wolfhart Pannenberg

Abstract

¿Se define la condición de criatura adecuadamente diciendo solo que es finita? ¿Cabe concebir un modo de infinitud actual diferente del infinito absoluto de Dios? Pannenberg responde que sí a la primera pregunta y que no a la segunda. En este ensayo, en diálogo con él, se intenta ir más allá de sus respuestas para hacer justicia, también, a un cierto tipo de infinitud actual que, siendo distinta de la infinitud divina, sin embargo, puede detectarse en la realidad creada.

Is creation adequately defined by saying only that it is finite? Is it possible to conceive of a mode of actual infinity that is different from the absolute infinity of God? Pannenberg answers yes to the first question and no to the second. In this essay, in dialogue with him, I try to go beyond their answers in order to do justice, also, to a certain type of actual infinity that, while distinct from divine infinity, can nevertheless be detected in created reality.
