Viatges i intercanvis artístics a l’inici del Renaixement. De València a Mallorca

Abstract

El capítulo analiza los intercambios artísticos entre Valencia y Mallorca a inicios del Renacimiento, centrándose en el papel de la cartuja de Portaceli y su influencia en la cartuja de Valldemossa. A partir del estudio de fuentes documentales y ejemplos artísticos, se examinan las redes de circulación de artistas, modelos y obras, así como la transferencia de estilos renacentistas. Se destaca la figura de Miquel Oliver como agente clave en la introducción de innovaciones artísticas y arquitectónicas en Mallorca. El trabajo pone de relieve la importancia de los vínculos religiosos y culturales en la difusión del Renacimiento, mostrando cómo estos intercambios contribuyeron a la transformación del panorama artístico mallorquín en el siglo XVI.

The chapter analyzes artistic exchanges between Valencia and Mallorca at the beginning of the Renaissance, focusing on the role of the Portaceli Charterhouse and its influence on the Valldemossa Charterhouse. Based on documentary sources and artistic examples, it examines networks of circulation of artists, models, and works, as well as the transfer of Renaissance styles. It highlights the figure of Miquel Oliver as a key agent in introducing artistic and architectural innovations in Mallorca. The study underscores the importance of religious and cultural connections in the diffusion of the Renaissance, showing how these exchanges contributed to transforming the Mallorcan artistic landscape in the 16th century.
