Fundamentos filosóficos de la IA

Abstract

El capítulo presenta los fundamentos filosóficos necesarios para comprender la inteligencia artificial y sus implicaciones éticas. Aborda cuestiones de filosofía de la mente, incluyendo distintas taxonomías de la IA, la diferencia entre enfoques simbólicos y subsimbólicos, y el balance filosófico sobre sus capacidades y límites. También examina problemas de epistemología y teoría de la ciencia, así como la relación entre filosofía de la tecnología e IA. A partir de ese marco, el texto sitúa la ética de la IA como un campo práctico que requiere atender a su estatuto epistemológico y a las principales problemáticas morales que plantea. Finalmente, reflexiona sobre cómo la inteligencia artificial afecta a la comprensión de la naturaleza humana, sus capacidades cognitivas, su autonomía y su posición ante la técnica.

The chapter presents the philosophical foundations needed to understand artificial intelligence and its ethical implications. It addresses issues in philosophy of mind, including different taxonomies of AI, the distinction between symbolic and subsymbolic approaches, and a philosophical assessment of its capacities and limits. It also examines questions of epistemology and philosophy of science, as well as the relationship between philosophy of technology and AI. On this basis, the text frames AI ethics as a practical field that requires attention to its epistemological status and to the main moral issues it raises. Finally, it reflects on how artificial intelligence affects our understanding of human nature, cognitive capacities, autonomy and the human position in relation to technology.
