Una aproximación a las experiencias religiosas y étnicas de los jóvenes de segunda generación en España

Abstract

Desde una perspectiva antropológica se aborda la cuestión de la experiencia étnica y religiosa de los Jóvenes de Segundas Generaciones que habitan en España. Son estudiados los jóvenes de origen inmigrante o descendientes de inmigrantes peruanos, dominicanos y marroquíes. Este trabajo es fruto de varias investigaciones en las que ha participado el autor y realizadas durante la última década y media. Se analizan los antecedentes de los estudios realizados en Estados Unidos en las últimas décadas donde abordan la cuestión racial y étnica. Se establece el concepto de etnicidad y cómo se genera ésta cotidianamente en estos jóvenes negociando su identidad en relación a sus congéneres y sus familiares más inmediatos. Al mismo tiempo se aborda cómo se identifican en los aspectos religiosos. Como la mayoría de jóvenes descendientes de peruanos y dominicanos se consideran católicos y los descendientes de marroquíes musulmanes. Al mismo tiempo se observa la diferencia tanto en los aspectos étnicos como religiosos de la vivencia de aquellos nacidos en España o llegados a muy temprana edad respecto de aquellos que han llegado un poco antes de la pre-adolescencia.

The issue of ethnic and religious experience of second generation Youth descent of Migrants living in Spain is analysed here from an anthropological perspective. Particularly are studied the young immigrants or descendants of immigrants Peruvians, Dominicans and Moroccans immigrants. This work is the result of several researches in which the author has participated and carried out during the last decade and a half. The article starts presenting the background of studies in the United States in recent decades which address racial and ethnic question. The concept of ethnicity is established and how it is generated daily in these young people negotiating their identity in relation to their peers and their families. At the same time it is addressed as they identify themselves in the religious aspects. Like most young descendants of Peruvians and Dominicans consider themselves Catholic and descendants of Moroccan Muslims. At the same time the difference is observed in both ethnic and religious aspects of the experience of those born in Spain or arrived at an early age with respect to those who have come just before the pre-adolescence.
