Familias reconstituidas: retos y fortalezas

Abstract

Muchas de las circunstancias a las que se enfrentan las familias reconstituidas en su formación inicial y en su evolución son ajenas a las familias tradicionales. La novedad de las situaciones experimentadas y el desconocimiento sobre cómo afrontarlas genera en muchas ocasiones desánimo y frustración entre sus miembros, dificultando la cohesión y consolidación de la familia. En este artículo se expondrá el ciclo evolutivo familiar de estas familias para poder identificar las dificultades comunes, normales e inherentes a este tipo de estructura familiar y, desde ahí, ofrecer pautas de actuación que permitan afianzar los lazos familiares y lograr la armonía y bienestar de sus miembros.

In large part, the challenges faced by blended families in their initial formation and ongoing evolution are beyond the scope of traditional families. The unfamiliarity of challenges faced and the lack of wisdom on how to address them is often the source of discouragement and frustration amongst their members, thus hindering family unity and consolidation. This article introduces the development cycle of these families to help identify shared and common difficulties ingrained in this family structure, drawing upon this information to offer guidelines for action that strengthen family ties and secure the peace of mind and wellbeing of their members.
