Se analizan los orígenes de la actual Asociación Española de Microfinanzas, su rol como ente investigador sobre el estado del sector en España, y sus acciones propuestas para crear un marco regulatorio que permita la distinción nítida entre las entidades microfinancieras como prestamistas del tercer sector especializados en microcrédito social, y otros prestamistas microfinancieros

The origins of the Spanish Microfinance Association are hereby analysed, without prejudice of examining its role as an institution for research on the state of the microfinancial sector in Spain and action proposed to create regulations neatly separating social microfinancial institutions and social lenders, on one side, and on the other side, non social or for profit microlenders
